You can make changes to the properties of Measures, Numbers, and Derived Measures. This will help you get the output you desire. The properties can be applied to all the reports or to a single report.
To edit the properties for the Measures or Numbers in your report, right-click the column header.
Click Edit Properties to make the necessary changes.
Format Options: Select the Format Options from the drop-down list. There are four formatting options:
Automatic
Select Automatic for a Measure column and the default output will have zero decimal places, it will show comma separated values, it will have display units as none, and it will display negative values if any.
Select Automatic for a Numbers column then the output will have a maximum up to two decimal places, it will show comma separated values, it will have display units as none, and it will display negative values if any.
Note: Select the Check Box (Apply these changes on this object’s properties on all my reports) if you wish to apply the object properties to all your reports. If you do not select the check box, then the changes will be reflected in the present report only.
Number
You can format the properties for numbers. In this you can set the decimal values, the way you want to display the negative values, and display units as per your requirements.
Decimal Places: Select the decimal place for the accuracy of the number to be displayed from the drop-down list. Maximum up to four decimal places can be displayed.
Negative Values: Displays the negative values if any. It gives you the option to display negative values with minus sign or to enclose the value in brackets.
Display Units: It displays the number by converting it into below mentioned values. It also displays the respective sign after the number.
Include Thousands Separator: This feature displays the number with comma separators after every thousands.
Currency
To set the desired currency, select the Currency option from the drop-down. Currency Symbol field is displayed along with the existing parameters.
Decimal Places: Select the decimal place for the accuracy of the number to be displayed from the drop-down list. Maximum up to four decimal places can be displayed.
Negative Values: Displays the negative values if any. It gives you the option to display negative values with minus sign or to enclose the value in brackets.
Display Units: It displays the number by converting it into below mentioned values. It also displays the respective sign after the number.
- None
- Thousands (K)
- Millions (M)
- Billions (B)
Percentage
It will calculate percentage and display the values along with the percentage symbol.
Decimal Places: Select the decimal place for the accuracy of the number to be displayed from the drop-down list. Maximum up to four decimal places can be displayed.
Negative Values: Displays the negative values if any. It gives you the option to display negative values with minus sign or to enclose the value in brackets.
