CalUsource contains many types of records across multiple dashboards. It can be cumbersome to search through each module's dashboard when looking to find a specific record. A filter may be beneficial to conduct a more complicated search with multiple search criteria.
If you find yourself conducting the same search with the same criteria multiple times, a dashboard filter that you save to your profile may save you time.
Create a Search Filter | Create/Default a Saved Filter |
To create a search filter
Navigate to the module that you want to create a filter for, which will vary depending on your persona.
Select the Filters icon at the top of the records listing within the module's dashboard.
Using the scroll bar on the left side of the resulting window, locate a filter you would like to apply. Then, based on the filter selected, either search for or select the criteria for your filter.
Based on your desired search, you can layer as many filters as needed to narrow your search. For example, you can filter by category, region and execution date or supplier, status and author/administrator.
Once you have finalized your search filter(s), select Apply in the lower right corner.
Your filter will now apply to the module's dashboard and each filter will be visible on a yellow bar. If you want to broaden your search, select the X next to the filter criteria you want to remove. If you want to add a new filter, select the Filters icon, add another filter, and select Apply.
To create/default a saved filter
Using the instructions above, select and apply the filter criteria. Once the filter is visible on screen, select the Save/Floppy Disk icon at the far right of the yellow bar.
Enter the name for the filter in the appropriate box and select Save.
The filter is now saved to your profile and can be reapplied or defaulted to the dashboard.
To reapply the filter, select the Filters icon from the right side of the dashboard.
Select Saved Filters at the top right corner on the filters window. Then, select the radio button next to the saved filter you want to reapply.
If you want to default the filter so it appears each time you open the module's dashboard, select the Mark as Default checkbox in the bottom left corner of the saved filters window.
Once you have selected your filter to reapply, and defaulted it if you want it to stay on your dashboard permanently, select Done.
Your filter will now appear on the module's dashboard.
To remove a filter
To remove a filter any time, select the Remove Filters icon at the far right of the yellow bar.
To remove a filter that you have defaulted to your module's dashboard, select the Filters icon and then select Saved Filters. Uncheck the Mark as Default checkbox and select the Done button. On your module's dashboard, you will have to remove the filter using the icon displayed above one final time, but the filter will no longer be defaulted to your dashboard when you reopen it. Please note that removing the filter does not delete the filter and it can be reapplied and/or defaulted again at any time.
